December 2007
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more . . . with the emphasis on the FRIENDS as I feel this word, more than any other, captures the spirit of PV 07. All Pacific Ventures are members of a valued cohort of special people but the group of 14 who went to Japan in December 07 gelled more than any previous group and as a result enjoyed a particularly precious experience which I had the honour to share vicariously.
As always our thanks go to all at MOFA, the IFA and the Japanese Embassy in London for making these trips possible. The reports which follow only show the tip of the emotional and knowledge-rich iceberg that the trip creates; as icebergs do the memories melt slowly with the telling until they become part of the mental store that enriches the lives of those who lived them and those to whom they recount them. This the PV experience spreads its message way beyond the confines of the trip group and another joy for me is to hear, year on year, at reunions and in messages, how previous trippers have used their experiences to help them in the work and leisure.
Thank you to you all.
Mary-Grace Browning
